HYDE PARK ROAD RECONSTRUCTION
HEAVY CIVIL CONSTRUCTION
Widening of existing road to 4 lanes, and CN Rail bridge construction/rehabilitation.
The Hyde Park Road Reconstruction project was one of the city’s most substantial roadwork projects in recent years. As one of the city’s busiest north-south arterial roads, Hyde Park experiences a high degree of traffic congestion between Oxford Street and Fanshawe Park Road. Therefore, plans were made to widen the road from 2 lanes to 4 lanes from Oxford to Sunningdale Road. As General Contractor, Amico managed cost, schedule, site crews, subcontractors and equipment for the project. Amico also administered health and safety on site and self-performed the majority of excavation, drainage, road building and site works services.
Due to the complexity of working on such a busy road and within close proximity to the CN Rail, Amico successfully planned, scheduled and coordinated all construction activities in such a way to maintain traffic and mitigate any railway disruption.
