RYMAL ROAD EAST PHASE 1B
HEAVY CIVIL CONSTRUCTION
Highlights included: 3000 m curb/gutter; 6500 m2 sidewalk construction; installation of 3 full traffic signal/street light intersections; 30m armour stone retaining wall, and multi-use paths; Installation of 1300 m of storm sewers; and 650 m of sanitary sewers
Our project management team successfully implemented a construction sequencing technique known as the One Pass Approach, resulting in the completion of this project one month ahead of schedule. By separating the project into stages and having the reclamation team follow behind the construction team, earlier stages were able to be turned back over to the general public while work progressed through the later stages. This was especially important considering the project footprint ran alongside schools and other institutions. This approach was made possible by adequately addressing all project requirements and coordinating the different work activities in each stage to optimize efficiency.
